The Owego Fire Department is mourning the sudden passing of one of its members. Chris Franz passed away suddenly this week at the age of 37. The proud member of Company 3 volunteered for many different department events, and took great pride in the appearance of his company’s engine 803. Chris followed in his father Ed’s footsteps in the fire department, and also worked at St. Patrick’s Church and was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 37. Calling hours will be held from 1-4pm Sunday at Estey, Munroe, and Fahey Funeral Home in Owego with burial services scheduled for Monday morning at St. Patrick’s.
