Starting January 1st of 2017, the State of Pennsylvania will no longer issue vehicle registration stickers. Vehicle registrations will instead be renewed online. Vehicle owners will then have to print off and sign a paper copy of their registration. This paper copy will still need to be presented if pulled over by authorities and when you get your car inspected. Authorities will have access to the online database of registered vehicles to verify registration.
This move away from registration stickers was part of an act approved by the state legislature in 2013. By ceasing to send out registration stickers, the state is expecting to save over $1 Million.
