Congressman-elect Tom Reed is expected to be released from the hospital Thursday and sworn in to represent New York’s 29th Congressional District.
Reed was supposed to be sworn into Eric Massa’s old seat on Tuesday, but he suffered blood clots in his lungs and had to be hospitalized over the weekend. Doctors have now given the former Corning mayor a clean bill of health, according to his office. The Republican’s district covers several counties, including Chemung.
Thursday is Reed’s 39th birthday.
