A retired New York State Police investigator has been sentenced in Tompkins County Court on felony sexual abuse charges. 61-year-old Randolph Stark was sentenced Wednesday to one year of local incarceration in the Tompkins County Jail, and will not be serving any time in state prison. Stark was convicted of subjecting a woman to sexual abuse last June. An order of protection was also issued on behalf of the victim in the case as part of the sentencing. The state had requested two years in state prison and ten years of post-release supervision, but the court stated that the supervision was unnecessary in this case, but Stark will be required to register as a sex offender.
