We’ve got several season-changing games on the high school football schedule tonight in both the Southern Tier of New York and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.

Let’s go to southern Bradford County, where undefeated Canton Warriors, ranked among the top teams in the smallest school division in Pennsylvania, opens its gates to host undefeated Jersey Shore, ranked among Top 5 medium-sized schools. Both teams have eight wins and no losses. This game is so big in the Canton area that the school district has asked spectators in Canton to carpool or walk to the stadium.

A few miles north tonight, undefeated and state-ranked Troy Area hosts Loyalsock.

Back in New York, one of the Southern Tier’s longest-running rivalry games has playoff implications for Vestal, who makes a short bus ride tonight across the river to play Union-Endicott. Both teams are undefeated in Section IV Class A division. The winner gets home field advantage throughout the upcoming playoffs.

Friday nights lights will be shinning bright tonight at Tioga Central’s stadium, where the undefeated and No. 1 state-ranked Tigers face their toughest game of the season against Delhi, also undefeated and state-ranked. The winner gets the Section 4 Class D trophy and top seed in upcoming playoffs.
