Sentence Stands In Vehicle Manslaughter Case

The sentence for a Delaware County man who caused a deadly crash back in March of 2010 has been upheld. Joshua Stimpson was driving on Route 10 when he tried to pass a tractor trailer in a no passing zone, hitting Sherry Bush’s car head on, killing her. Stimpson pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter and was sentenced to three-and-a-half to 10-and-a-half years in prison. He later appealed, saying the sentence was too harsh. The appellate court ruled the sentence will stand, saying that when Stimpson pleaded guilty, he waived his right to appeal both the conviction and the sentence.
