A 16-year-old is dead following a truck crash on Interstate 86. William Warrick, formerly of Rochester, has been identified by New York State Police as the person who found unresponsive lying in the median early Sunday. Warrick was found about a half of a mile west of Exit 42 in the Town of Campbell. A joint investigation by police and the Steuben County Sheriff’s office reveals the teen was hit by tractor trailer in the westbound lane Sunday morning. The truck driver’s name has not been released, but that person is cooperating with the investigation. While officials were on scene, I-86 West was closed between Painted Post and Cooper Plains for about two-and-a-half hours. The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Painted Post is working to figure out the circumstances of why Warrick was walking on the highway.
