The Greater Southern Tier BOCES Educational Association is making concessions to help struggling school districts.  Due to the difficult economic times, the group that represents BOCES teachers and aides has agreed to a decrease in both health insurance buyouts and health reimbursement money, along with an increase in health insurance contributions for the fiscal year.  These changes will be made to non-unionized employees and will save BOCES almost $220,000, which will then be passed on to component school districts.  BOCES will also save nearly $200,000 due to some administrative restructuring that stems from retirements.
