The New York State Police at Sidney are investigating an early Wednesday morning head-on crash on River Road in the Town of Sidney. Thirty-nine year old Jason Cunningham, of Unadilla, was driving his 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van westbound on River Road when
he entered a sharp curve in the roadway and drifted into the eastbound lane. He then struck a 2009 Ford F-450 pickup truck that was traveling eastbound. Mr. Cunningham was transported to A.O. Fox hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy will be conducted at Lourdes hospital and the results are pending. The driver of the pickup truck, thirty-five year old Matthias Wesner, also of Unadilla, NY received minor injuries in the crash.
State Police are also investigating a motorcycle striking a pickup truck on County Route 11 in the Town of Hartwick on Tuesday morning. 28-year-old Kyle Bronson, of Cooperstown, was operating his 2010 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on County Route 11 when he lost control and struck a 2015 GMC Denali pickup truck. Bronson was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the pickup truck was not injured. The investigation is continuing.
