A Steuben County employee has been accused of stealing money from the county Treasurer’s Office. Troopers say the suspect made phony entries into the treasurer’s receipt book and tried to hide the missing cash. 34-year-old Melissa Olin, from Cohocton, is facing one count of felony tampering with public records in the first degree. She was arraigned in the Village of Bath court.
Troopers say they are still piecing together how much money was taken. More arrests are pending in the case.
