Three fire departments rolled out their rigs late Monday to head for Corliss Avenue in Johnson City.
It was around 4:40pm when the Johnson City Fire Department got a call that there was a fire in a recycling business right next door to an old E-J building.
After a second alarm was sounded, surrounding departments showed up to help.
The village Fire Chief says the likely cause was smoldering materials near a conveyor system that carries recycled materials into the building.
Although no one was injured the fire department does have safety concerns with the building.
The fire was contained to the building and was put out in about ten minutes.
