The United Way of Broome County will officially launch the 2-1-1 program on Friday at Noon.
The program is an expansion of the former First Call for Help information and referral program which United Way of Broome County has operated for more than 25 years.
It is part of a national, non-emergency program to help people find sources of assistance in many areas of basic human needs, like caring for family, food resources, housing, and financial counseling.
People in Broome and Tioga Counties can dial 2-1-1 (or 1-800-901-2180) to obtain free and confidential health and human services information.
