The Tioga County Boys & Girls Club received good news recently from a local foundation. The Boys & Girls Club’s Nick Ruiz visited the WEBO Morning Show today and talked about the grant from the Floyd Hooker Foundation, which comes in at $300,000. The substantial grant money will be used for a number of upgrades at the facility on Erie Street in Owego.
Upon his death in 2007, 30 percent of Floyd Hooker’s estate was designated to assist the children of Tioga County. Hooker struck it big in 1999 when he won $45 million through the New York Lottery.
