Agriculture still a big part of Tioga County

Agriculture continues to be a large part of the economy in Tioga County according to a report from the Cornell Cooperative Extension. The total direct agricultural industry output – which includes production, support services, and manufacturing – means $261 million to the Tioga County economy. Not only revenue, but the report lists 861 people employed in the agriculture sector in Tioga County. Along with the traditional dairy farms, agriculture produces vegetables, fruits, meats, poultry, fiber products, timber products, maple syrup, and other items in the county.
