The Apalachin Lions Club is thanking the community for their outstanding support of this year’s Christmas Basket program.
Over two tons of food and four truckloads of toys were distributed to needy families in Apalachin, Campville and Little Meadows over the holidays. 53 different families received a package with two or more bags of groceries, a turkey and at least one new present for each child 12 or younger.
Lions members spent over 200 hours collecting, sorting and delivering the packages across the area. They say the effort would not be possible without extensive help from numerous community organizations and individuals.
