This weekend was Recruit NY, an annual event across New York State to recruit volunteer firefighters and EMT’s. Most volunteer departments throughout the state participated by hosting an event at their stations to meet and greet the public in the hopes of recruiting new members. This weekend’s event was particularly special for Apalachin, who got the chance to show off their new fire station on Pennsylvania Avenue. The new building replaces a more than 50 year old building and now comfortably houses all of their modern day apparatus, and membership needs.
