A 61-year-old Binghamton man is facing charges after he allegedly injuring a resident at a local residential care facility.
According to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, Edward T. Renwick, Jr. has been charged with felony counts of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person or an incompetent or physically disabled person in the second degree.
The Sheriff’s Office made the arrest at the conclusion of a week-long investigation following the report of an incident that occurred on Feb. 25th at a Broome Developmental Center residential care facility in the Town of Owego.
Renwick, an employee at the facility, is accused of causing physical injury to a resident and also engaging in conduct which endangered the welfare of a second resident.
Renwick was arraigned in Tioga County CAP Court, where an order of protection was issued, and then released pending future proceedings in the Town of Owego Court.
