With the upcoming holidays, the American Red Cross urges donors to continue making and keeping their appointments to overcome the current emergency blood and platelet shortage. Thousands have rolled up their sleeves and donated since the emergency was declared last month, but it is estimated that 10,000 donations are still needed each week to meet patient needs ahead of the upcoming holiday season, traditionally a challenging time of year.
Below is a list of upcoming blood drives in Broome and Tioga Counties, Nov. 1-23. To schedule an appointment, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767.)
