Cal Harris and his children are offering a $100,000 reward for information resulting in the discovery of the remains of Michele Harris, who went missing in 2001.
Harris and two of his now adult children joined his attorneys at a press conference in Binghamton on Thursday to announce the reward.
Cal Harris was tried four times over an 11-year period for the murder of his wife. He was convicted twice by Tioga County juries, but both convictions were overturned.
He was then faced a jury trial in Schoharie County, but the third trial would end in a mistrial when the jury was deadlocked. Finally, Harris was found not guilty by a Schoharie County Judge in a bench trial in 2016.
Harris’ lead attorney, Bruce Barket, said his team has uncovered information over the years, that has been helpful in the search for Michele. He did not share what that information was during Thursday’s press conference because he said he did not want to hurt any future investigations.
