Emergency crews responded to a 2 car motor vehicle accident in Candor Tuesday evening with serious injuries. The call came in around 8 o’clock, near the Dollar General. Candor Fire and Emergency Squad responded along with police. First arriving units requested not one, but TWO helicopters to respond for critical medical transports. An extra ambulance from the Owego Fire Department responded, as well as additional Fire Police to help with traffic control while Route 96 was shut down temporarily at Glen Mary Drive. Two landing zones were needed to facilitate both helicopters. Campville Fire assisted with that. At least one of the helicopters transported a victim to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, and possibly another by ground ambulance. The crash is under investigation, and no patient updates or accident report have been made available yet.
