On 07/21/2019 at 11:58am, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office responded to report of a motor vehicle accident on State Route 96B in the Town of Candor. A 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle was travelling south on State Route 96B at the intersection of Gridleyville Crossing when it struck a 2018 Ford Fusion that was travelling east Gridleyville Crossing to turn onto State Route 96B.
The driver of the motorcycle, Timothy J. Tagliavento, age 30 of Brooktondale, died later at a local hospital. The driver and passenger of the Fusion were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident is still under investigation at this time.
The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, New York State Environmental Conservation Police, Greater Valley EMS, Spencer EMS, Candor EMS and Candor Fire.
