This week is Child Hunger Awareness Week, and the Tioga County Anti-Hunger Task Force is raising awareness of childhood food insecurity. Their efforts started with a visit to the WEBO Morning Show today.
“It’s a huge problem,” Andy Hafer from Tioga Opportunities said on WEBO. “1 in 5 children in Tioga County suffer from food insecurity, (which is) a lack of adequate food.”
The task force will hold a press conference this afternoon to increase awareness of the problem, and blitz the county on Thursday wearing their orange shirts. You can find out more about the organization online at feedtioga.org. The full interview from today is available to listen to below.
