The preliminary hearing for a Waverly man charged with murder in Bradford County has been rescheduled and relocated.
73-year-old John DeSisti is charged with the 2006 murders of David and Carol Keefe. He was originally scheduled to appear before District Judge Michael Shaw this Friday, but that hearing has been moved to the Bradford County Courthouse and rescheduled for Jan. 13.
Judge Shaw has recused himself from the case based on his personal relationship with David Keefe, who was a prominent lawyer in the valley. District Judge Timothy Clark of Towanda will preside over the hearing.
DeSisti will remain in the Bradford County Jail without bail. He could face the death penalty if convicted on the murder charges. A Philadelphia lawyer will handle his defense.
Investigators believe the murders were the result of a long-standing property dispute between DeSisti and Carol Keefe, his cousin.
