With drug abuse still a major issue for residents all around the Twin Tiers, a Drug Awareness Night is being held in Newark Valley on Wednesday at 7PM. The community outreach event is being held at the Newark Valley United Church of Christ on Main Street.
The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office as well as New York State Police will be on hand to describe what you should look out for in your neighborhood if you suspect drug use. Lourdes Hospital and the Tioga County Health Department will be present to inform event-goers on the health effects of drug abuse. Dreams over Drugs and the Southern Tier AIDS Program will be there as well, giving demonstrations on how to administer Narcan. The event is free and open to all. No registration is necessary.
