An elderly woman was struck by a vehicle in the village of Waverly earlier this month.
The Waverly Police Department said the accident occurred near the Chemung Street and Clark Street intersection near the St. James Catholic Church at around 6:05 p.m. on Jan. 4.
According to police, an 82-year-old woman failed to utilize a nearby crosswalk and was struck by a moving vehicle. The 35-year-old female driver was not injured in the accident.
Police said the driver was unable to avoid the collision.
The elderly woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
