The case of a Tioga County father who is charged with killing his eight-month old daughter is going to a Grand Jury. Cody Franciscovich waived his right to a felony hearing Friday in Town of Tioga Court. Now, his case goes to a grand jury. Franciscovich, 25, is charged with killing his daughter, Ruby Franciscovich, on Sunday and then dumping her body in a creek behind St. Patrick’s Cemetery on Route 17C in the Town of Tioga. He has been charged with first-degree murder, which carries a life-in-prison sentence, if convicted.
A candlelight vigil for Ruby Franciscovich is planned to start at 8:00 p.m, Monday at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the Town of Tioga. Attendees are asked to wear red in honor of the girl.
Police say Cody Franciscovich abused his daughter before killing her. A motive and other details about the killing have not been released. Franciscovich. remains in the Tioga County jail without bail.
