A fundraising campaign has been launched for one of the two victims of a head on collision that happened on Route 96 in Candor Monday evening. Todd Birchard of Owego was travelling home from Spencer when he collided head-on with another vehicle. Birchard suffered serious injuries requiring evacuation from the scene by helicopter to Guthrie Hospital in Sayre where he has already undergone one surgery, and is currently in a medically induced coma. Birchard is well known for his service on the Tioga County ASAP Coalition, and at CASA Trinity where he is a community youth educator—travelling Tioga County teaching children about the dangers of substance abuse.
Funds are currently being collected for the Birchard family on GoFundMe. Todd is married with two young children.
