Harris Jury Hears Rebuttal Witnesses

The prosecution finished calling rebuttal witnesses yesterday in the third Cal Harris murder trial. They called its fifth rebuttal witness, Donna Kalled, a records custodian for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Then they called their sixth and final rebuttal witness — New York State Police Senior Investigator Steven Andersen. Andersen previously gave seven days of testimony for the prosecution. Before the jury was excused for the day, Schoharie County Judge George Bartlett laid out a tentative plan for the duration of the trial. Bartlett said both the prosecution and the defense agreed to adjourn until Monday. On Monday, the defense will call two witnesses. It says both will give very brief testimonies. Bartlett said closing arguments will begin Monday afternoon. He said he expects the jury to begin deliberations on Tuesday.
