Harris Trial Concludes Ninth Week of Testimony

The ninth week of testimony in the Cal Harris murder trial wrapped up yesterday. The defense’s blood splatter expert, Terry Laber, concluded his time on the stand. Laber thought his third day of testimony was complete when he was dismissed along with the jury. But he was called back into the courtroom after the defense objected to Judge George Bartlett’s restricting their line of questioning during their redirect. Bartlett will decide whether to read the final questions and answers to the jury when court resumes Monday. Kevin Tubbs was expected to take the stand yesterday, but his testimony was postponed until next week. Tubbs claims to have seen Michele arguing with a man at the end of her driveway on September 12, 2001, the morning after she went missing. Bartlett told the jury that the trial is nearing an end, but he “can’t promise” it will wrap up next week.
