Republican Garry Hellmers has entered the race for Town of Owego Supervisor.
The current town council member is looking to take over for longtime Supervisor Don Castellucci, who is retiring at the end of the year.
Hellmers, who runs G and B Farms, has served the community for five decades including service with the Owego and Apalachin Fire Departments, and the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office and Vestal Police Department.
Hellmers joins former Owego Mayor John Loftus in the Republican primary for the supervisor seat. The primary is set for June 24th.
