The Owego VFW Post 1371 will host its special Veteran’s Day ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11th.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. and will feature Veterans sharing their stories.
Storytelling is a powerful tool for healing, education, and remembrance, reinforcing the value of veterans’ experiences in society. These narratives can educate younger generations about the realities of service, promoting empathy and respect.
In a show of solidarity and remembrance, we are asking local churches to ring their bells at 11 o’clock, and fire sirens to sound in honor of those who have served. This moment will allow our community to unite in gratitude and reflection for the sacrifices made by our veterans.
There will be a lunch after the ceremony at the VFW hall.
Listen to the ceremony on WEBO and the My Hometown Today app.
