A Lockwood man has been arrested after he allegedly attacked an elderly man with a machete at an apartment in Waverly.
According to police, 32-year-old David Ronald Kithcart III has been charged with felony assault in the first degree, resisting arrest and other related charges following the incident on Monday.
Kithcart is accused of attacking an elderly man and causing serious injuries just before 7 a.m. on Monday at an apartment on Orchard Street in Waverly.
The victim required medical attention, but has since been released from the hospital.
Kithcart left scene before police arrived, but was located later in the day. While being interviewed at the Waverly Police Station, the suspect became combative and had to be subdued by police.
No officers or Kithcart were injured during the incident.
