Marvin Park in Owego was vandalized over the weekend.

The suspects broke into the recently built announcer’s stand by breaking a door. They also tore down a section of chain link fence, and broke tables and lights at the firehouse pavilion.

A post on the Tioga County Fair Facebook page said the damage to the door of the announcer’s stand will not be covered by insurance and the Tioga County Agricultural Society will have to pay for the damages.

The Owego Police Department is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police.

The damages will not impact the Tioga County Fair, which is set for Aug. 5 through Aug. 9 at Marvin Park.
