The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office is now saying that an explosion inside a Newark Valley home on Friday was caused by the manufacturing of methamphetamine. 23-year-old Melissa Callahan is being charged with one count of unlawful manufacturing of meth in the third degree. Crews arrived on the scene following the explosion to find that the garage and windows were blown from the house. One person, whose name has not been released, had to be taken to the hospital following the incident, and their condition is unknown at this time. Callahan was sent to the Tioga County jail on $20,000 cash bail.
