Pennsylvania State Police have released more information about the arrest of 73-year-old John DeSisti for the 2006 murders of David and Carol Keefe.
Investigators say DeSisti was their primary suspect from the beginning, but it took them awhile to examine all the evidence and receive DNA analysis.
DeSisti, of Waverly, was embroiled in a years-long dispute with Carol, his cousin, about property that they jointly owned in New York State. Carol and her husband were shot to death in the garage of their Athens Township home.
State Police say they recovered shotguns and rifles from DeSisti’s residence. They describe him as an experienced trapper and hunter.
DeSisti is charged with two counts of murder and one count of burglary. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Friday.
