Multiple fire departments were called to a house fire in the Town of Maine Thursday morning. Around 7:30, the Town of Maine Fire Department was called to 111 Lewis Street. Officials say that when the fire crew arrived on the scene, heavy smoke and fire was showing from every door and window of the home. After about an hour, the fire was mostly out with firefighters checking for hot spots. Crews from Glen Aubrey, Endicott, Newark Valley, Union Center, West Corners, and Whitney Point all were called to the scene. The residents of the home are reportedly a couple in their 50’s that live in Florida and stay in the home once per year. They returned to Florida last month.
