A Newfield woman was arrested after she allegedly drove drunk with a child in the car on Saturday.
According to Ithaca Police, Elvira Good has been charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Child in Vehicle, which is a Class E felony, as well as misdemeanor counts of DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the Second Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Ithaca Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of North Meadow Street and Third Street at around 7:36 p.m. on Saturday. Witnesses reported that the driver at fault fled the scene before officers arrived.
Good was arrested at a nearby business and was found to be intoxicated with a 5-year-old in the car.
Good is scheduled to appear in Ithaca City Court at a later date.
