The Nichols’ Old Home Day Celebration is back in full-swing again this year. Susan Field, the Vice President of the Nichols Ro-Ki Community Club, says that the Old Home Day Celebration suffered severe cutbacks last year due to a lack of local volunteers. There was no parade, and no entertainment in Kirby Park. Since then, the Nichols Ro-Ki Club has received numerous new volunteers and board members who have reenergized the efforts of the Old Home Day Celebration.
There are several new features to the event this year, including a photo booth, as well as knockerball.
Vendor applications are still being accepted as well.
The celebration has been a staple of Nichols Labor Day festivities for over 100 years. Labor Day and the Old Home Day Celebration are on Monday, September 5th this year. The parade will kick the festivities off at 10am in Nichols.
