Officials in the Town of Nichols have decided to not make any changes to their town clerk and highway supervisor positions.
A public meeting was held last month on a potential change that would have made both positions appointed instead of elected.
According to the Morning Times, Town Supervisor Esther Woods told those in attendance at a meeting this week that the town would not move forward with the potential change.
The board was considering asking voters to make the change through a ballot referendum.
However, Woods told the crowd on Tuesday that the positions would remain elected.
