New York State Police responded in Nichols yesterday afternoon following reports of an accident involving a tractor trailer. According to police, a tractor trailer fishtailed on Route 17 eastbound and clipped a Department of Transportation vehicle. The DOT vehicle was hauling another construction vehicle. The tractor trailer was pulling an empty tanker from Batavia to Newark, NJ to pick up coconut oil. The vehicles were quickly moved to a nearby rest stop in order to clear the highway for traffic. No injuries were reported.
