State police arrested two people for drug and weapon possession after a routine traffic stop. Yesterday at approximately 4 p.m. State Police in Owego pulled over a speeding vehicle on Route 17 in Nichols. Jaron Stevens of Newburgh, and Monica Reyes from the Bronx, were arrested after police found plastic knuckles and a small amount of marijuana in their car. Stevens was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. He was arraigned in the Town of Nichols Court and released after paying 200 dollars cash bail. Reyes was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and was issued a ticket.
