The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that State Route 17 eastbound will be closed between Exit 65 in Owego and Exit 67 in Endicott starting on Thursday, July 11 at 11:30 p.m. until Friday, July 12 at 6 a.m.
The closure is necessary to fix damaged guiderails.
A signed detour will be in place sending traffic to State Route 434 eastbound at Exit 65 to State Route 26 northbound in Vestal before returning to State Route 17 eastbound at Exit 67.
Construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to change based on conditions. Motorists should anticipate travel delays and build extra travel time into their schedules.
