The Owego Apalachin Career Center is proud to present its second annual “Finding Your Pathway” event on Wednesday, May 21, from 9:15 to 10 a.m. This unique and interactive career exploration event was developed to fill a need specifically for 10th-grade students.

The event offers students a valuable opportunity to engage directly with professionals representing 11 different career pathways, providing insight into a wide range of industries and occupations. The goal is to help students begin thinking about their future and understand the various educational and career options available to them.

In preparation for the event, OA Career Center staff are working closely with students in their English classes to build career readiness skills. These sessions include discussions about professional behavior, communication strategies for engaging with business representatives, and completion of an interest inventory to help students identify pathways that align with their strengths and interests.

“We created ‘Finding Your Pathway’ to give our students a meaningful, hands-on experience with real professionals who can help them envision their future careers,” said Thomas Westcott, coordinator of the OA Career Center. “This event is about empowering students to make informed decisions about their futures.”
