As part of the requirement for New York State school districts to remove and replace Indigenous names, logos, and imagery by the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, the Owego Apalachin Central School District has started to remove the main entrance sign on Sheldon Guile Boulevard.
The district is working with the Class of 1986, who gifted the sign, on a new location.
The sign will be safely stored on campus until a new location is finalized.
