Owego-Apalachin voters approve school budget, projects

Voters in the Owego-Apalachin Central School District approved a $57 million dollar budget on Tuesday night.

The final vote was 758 to 342, meaning 69 percent of voters approved the spending plan.

Owego-Apalachin voters also approved the purchase of 5 school buses with 74 percent of the vote.

The school district’s $28.5 million dollar capital project passed with 68 percent of the vote.

Noah Schumacher and John Crawford were elected to the Owego-Apalachin School Board with 459 and 378 votes, respectively.

Voters also approved additional taxpayer funding for the Apalachin Public Library and the Coburn Free Library.
