On March 19 at approximately 2:30 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Frederick F. Neal Jr., age 30 of Barton, NY, for the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He was also issued several traffic tickets after a trooper from Owego barracks observed the vehicle Neal was operating with an equipment violation on State Route 96 in the Village of Candor.
A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation revealed that Neal was in possession of a stun gun. The passenger of the vehicle, Richard C. Godfrey, age 37 of Owego, NY, was issued an appearance ticket for the violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana after he was found to be in possession of marijuana and a smoking device.
Both men were arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Village of Candor Court on April 1.
