Churches in both Tioga and Bradford County are being asked to support the local Wreaths Across America campaign.
Churches in the two counties are encouraged to adopt a cemetery and place an evergreen wreath at its entrance on Saturday while families are invited to place a wreath at the gravesites of any relatives who served our country. More than 5,000 veterans are buried in the two counties.
A ceremony will be held at noon on Saturday to lay wreaths at the Tioga County Veterans Memorial in Owego. Over 500 similar ceremonies will be held across the country and the world, including at the Arlington National Cemetery.
This is the fourth year of local participation in the Wreaths Across America campaign.
