WEBO has obtained a copy of the final grant that the Village of Owego submitted to New York’s Department of State to potentially consolidate the Owego Police Department into the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
There were no major changes from the first version of the grant that was released earlier this month. The grant application was submitted on July 8. It would have to be approved by the Department of State before anything can move forward. The Village of Owego would still also need approval from the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, Owego Police Benevolent Association, and a public referendum vote before any consolidation could take place.
The full, final grant application as submitted to the New York Department of State can be read in the document link below.
