Flood Warnings remain in effect today, extended now through Saturday. There’s a Wind Advisory still in effect as well, until 7 o’clock tonight.
The Flood Warnings are for the Susquehanna River in Vestal and in Waverly/Sayre.
In Vestal, meteorologists are predicting 19 feet of water with a flood stage of 18 feet, which would yield what they consider “Minor Flooding”. Currently, the level is at 12 feet. Minor flood stage is expected to be achieved around noon today, and drop through the weekend. The river is so wide in Owego that no problems are expected.
The water level in Waverly/Sayre is currently at 7 feet. Minor flooding begins at 11 feet, and it is expected to reach 13 feet around 7 o’clock tonight.
