Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering two FREE classes to help you save on heating and electric costs.
On February 9th 1 – 3pm or February 10th 6- 8pm at the Tioga County Office Building in the CCE Meeting room in the basement of 56 Main St in Owego.
The cost of fuel oil, natural gas, propane and electricity is going up and this class will help you prepare.
Many of the do-it-yourself repairs you’ll learn about can significantly reduce your power and heating bills. You’ll find out what the biggest consumers of energy are and how to control those costs. You’ll also learn about programs that can help you afford energy-efficiency improvements with subsidies, low-interest loans, or free services to qualifying households.
Participants will receive a free energy kit, including weatherstripping, shrink window insulation, outlet and light switch gaskets, and more. These workshops are fun, free and open to the public. Bring a friend!
Please call 687-4020 or e-mail [email protected] to sign up for the class or to find out if this workshop can be presented to your club or group.
